Last week the PNQCRI celebrated National Community Health Worker Awareness Week! This week is dedicated to recognizing and celebrating the vital role that Community Health Workers (CHWs) play in our healthcare system. CHWs are essential in bridging gaps between communities and healthcare providers, ensuring that individuals receive the support and resources they need to achieve optimal health. Their cultural competence and deep understanding of local needs enable them to address barriers to healthcare access, ultimately improving maternal and infant health outcomes and fostering healthier communities. CHWs can help reduce infant and maternal mortality by connecting their clients to resources and working as part of a multi-disciplinary team with clinicians, doulas, and recovery specialists! In the following slides, we'll explore what this special week is, highlight the resources available to guide your efforts to acknowledge this week and discuss ways we can support and advocate for these dedicated professionals. Thank you for joining us and honoring their important contributions!
